All eyes on Miles

It is rare when all the girls are in town at once and available.  We managed to throw something together at my Mom's.  Brianne, Chrissy and Meg.  But Miles managed to steal the show.

Window Seat

The window seat at my Mom's house is my favorite because of the memories it holds.  It is located in a small bedroom with pink painted walls and a pink colored carpet.  Who do you ask was the interior designer to pick out such an inspiring color pallet? Well, that was 8 year old me.  We moved into this house when I was young and I can still remember the excitement.  My sister, brother and I thought the house was a mansion.  We would run around and play hide and seek in this empty 'mansion' of a house while my Dad scraped seven layers of wall paper off the walls.  My sister and I had a huge fight over who would get this bedroom with the adorable window seat.  Needless to say the older sister won out (me).  My wonderful Mom let us pick out the wall color and carpet color, hence the abundance of pink.  Years later, Missy convinced me to switch rooms with her.  Missy was then stuck with the sea of pink but it was the window seat that she was after.  I remember Missy trying to sleep in the small window seat overnight, she was never successful, but it was funny to watch.  So, while the window seat at my Mom's will forever be my favorite, the window seat at my Aunt and Uncle's house comes in at a close second.

It is a gorgeous window seat which looks out onto a tree that is filled with beautiful bird houses.  Each bird house is unique.  I have loved this window seat since I was a little girl.  I would accompany my Dad there while he worked on my Aunt's house.  Now my girls get to enjoy it as well.

Happy Birthday Aunt Roe

Aunt Roe with Missy (my sister), Jimmy and me
Aunt Roe, is my Mom's sister and my Godmother.  Her health has been deteriorating but today is her birthday so I am trying to only think of the positives.  Aunt Roe took me to Hawaii when I was twelve.  It was incredible.  Snorkeling, exploring volcanoes, helicopter rides and hula dancing.  I was nervous that I would be so homesick without my Mom and Dad but she made sure we were busy with fun activities everyday.  I miss our phone conversations.  Even though they were extremely long sometimes, she always made me feel great about myself and proud of what I had accomplished.  She also allowed me to drive her white Mustang convertible all over town when I was sixteen.  My friends and I thought we were so cool riding around with the top down with our favorite mix tape in the cassette player.  She is a tough women but always has her heart in the right place.  Happy Birthday Aunt Roe!
